Zjistěte, co dělá z vinylové figurky Yeye smysluplný sběratelský kousek, jaké jsou její klíčové detaily a kdo by si ji měl (nebo neměl) přidat do své sbírky.
Quick answer
The Yeye art toy is a poignant vinyl figure that tells a powerful story about racial prejudice, making it a meaningful addition for collectors who value narrative and social commentary over flashy design.
Why Yeye stands out among designer toys
Yeye isn't just a cute character; it's a deliberate artistic statement. The figure shows a gentle grandfather from the front, but from the back, it reveals the harsh reality of how he can be seen as a target of irrational rage. This duality makes it a conversation piece that goes beyond typical collectible aesthetics.
At 6.5 inches tall, it's a substantial piece for display, but its real value lies in the story it tells. If you collect art toys for their narrative depth and social relevance, Yeye offers something rare.
Key considerations before buying
This is a vinyl figure from a limited release (dated 8/3/22), so availability on the secondary market may vary. The original catalog price was USD 88.00, with a current listing price of USD 53.68, which reflects market adjustments over time.
Because Yeye is a narrative-driven piece, its appeal is narrower than a purely aesthetic or character-driven toy. It's not designed to be cute or universally likable, and the subject matter may be heavy for some collectors.
Decision rules for buying Yeye
- Check the story fit: If you collect art toys for their narrative and social commentary, Yeye is a strong candidate. If you prefer purely aesthetic or character-driven pieces, look elsewhere.
- Evaluate the condition: Since this is a past release, inspect any listing for damage to the vinyl or paint. The dual-sided design means both front and back details matter equally. Request clear photos of both sides before purchasing.
- Compare pricing: The catalog comparison price was USD 88.00, and the current listing is USD 53.68. Use this as a reference point for fair market value, but be aware that secondary market prices can vary. Set a budget and watch for listings that match the current market range.
