Quando um artista morre, o seu legado perdura. Este ano fui ao memorial de Abigail Gumbiner, uma artista talentosa e prolífica e mãe da minha querida amiga Tamar Halpern. Conheci o seu viúvo, o Mestre Litógrafo e pintor Peter Holmes. Peter deu-me uma visita guiada pelo seu estúdio e imediatamente os meus olhos foram atraídos por uma série de pinturas guardadas num canto - pessoas a lutar contra a máquina, artistas marciais, guerreiros nativos americanos e samurais ferozes, todos feitos num estilo Rorschach que os fazia ganhar vida. Assim nasceu a Série Guerreiro, uma colaboração entre MK e Peter Holmes. Abigail colocou um pincel na mão de Peter e não posso deixar de pensar que ela nos uniu para partilhar os resultados com o mundo.

Wore this to the memorial for Abigail and it felt right — the cotton is soft but the silkscreen still has that crisp, slightly raised feel you only get from a real print. Washed it once already and no cracking or fading.

The silkscreen print on this one is sharp and the white cotton is thick enough that you can't see through it. It fits true to size, which I appreciated since I ordered online without trying it on. Slightly boxy cut, but that's the look I was going for.
