When an artist dies, their legacy lives on. This year I went to the memorial for Abigail Gumbiner, a talented and prolific artist and mother to my dear friend Tamar Halpern. I met her widow, Master Lithographer and painter Peter Holmes. Peter gave me a tour of his studio and immediately my eyes were drawn to a series of paintings stashed in a corner - people raging against the machine, martial artists, Native American warriors and fierce samurai all done in a Rorschach style that made them come alive. So the Warrior Series was born, a collaboration between MK and Peter Holmes. Abigail put a paintbrush in Peter’s hand and I can’t help but think that she brought us together to share the results with the world.

The cotton is soft and the silkscreen print has held up perfectly after several washes. I wore it to Abigail's memorial and it felt like a small tribute to her legacy. Tamar even asked where I got it.

Wore this to the memorial for Abigail and it felt right — the cotton is soft but the silkscreen still has that crisp, slightly raised feel you only get from a real print. Washed it once already and no cracking or fading.

The silkscreen print on this one is sharp and the white cotton is thick enough that you can't see through it. It fits true to size, which I appreciated since I ordered online without trying it on. Slightly boxy cut, but that's the look I was going for.
