Quando un artista muore, la sua eredità vive. Quest'anno sono andato alla commemorazione di Abigail Gumbiner, un'artista talentuosa e prolifica, madre della mia cara amica Tamar Halpern. Ho incontrato il suo vedovo, il maestro litografo e pittore Peter Holmes. Peter mi ha fatto visitare il suo studio e subito i miei occhi sono stati catturati da una serie di dipinti nascosti in un angolo – persone che lottano contro il sistema, artisti marziali, guerrieri nativi americani e samurai feroci, tutti realizzati in uno stile Rorschach che li faceva sembrare vivi. Così è nata la Warrior Series, una collaborazione tra MK e Peter Holmes. Abigail ha messo un pennello nelle mani di Peter e non posso fare a meno di pensare che ci abbia uniti per condividere i risultati con il mondo.

The cotton is soft and the silkscreen print has held up perfectly after several washes. I wore it to Abigail's memorial and it felt like a small tribute to her legacy. Tamar even asked where I got it.

Wore this to the memorial for Abigail and it felt right — the cotton is soft but the silkscreen still has that crisp, slightly raised feel you only get from a real print. Washed it once already and no cracking or fading.

The silkscreen print on this one is sharp and the white cotton is thick enough that you can't see through it. It fits true to size, which I appreciated since I ordered online without trying it on. Slightly boxy cut, but that's the look I was going for.
