Quand un artiste meurt, son héritage perdure. Cette année, je suis allé à la commémoration d'Abigail Gumbiner, une artiste talentueuse et prolifique, mère de ma chère amie Tamar Halpern. J'y ai rencontré son veuf, le maître lithographe et peintre Peter Holmes. Peter m'a fait visiter son atelier et mes yeux ont immédiatement été attirés par une série de peintures cachées dans un coin - des gens luttant contre la machine, des artistes martiaux, des guerriers amérindiens et de féroces samouraïs, tous réalisés dans un style Rorschach qui les rendait vivants. Ainsi est née la série Warrior, une collaboration entre MK et Peter Holmes. Abigail a mis un pinceau dans la main de Peter et je ne peux m'empêcher de penser qu'elle nous a réunis pour partager les résultats avec le monde.

The cotton is soft and the silkscreen print has held up perfectly after several washes. I wore it to Abigail's memorial and it felt like a small tribute to her legacy. Tamar even asked where I got it.

Wore this to the memorial for Abigail and it felt right — the cotton is soft but the silkscreen still has that crisp, slightly raised feel you only get from a real print. Washed it once already and no cracking or fading.

The silkscreen print on this one is sharp and the white cotton is thick enough that you can't see through it. It fits true to size, which I appreciated since I ordered online without trying it on. Slightly boxy cut, but that's the look I was going for.
