Když umělec zemře, jeho odkaz žije dál. Letos jsem se zúčastnil(a) vzpomínkové akce za Abigail Gumbiner, talentovanou a plodnou umělkyni a matku mé drahé přítelkyně Tamar Halpern. Setkal(a) jsem se s jejím vdovcem, mistrem litografem a malířem Peterem Holmesem. Peter mi udělal prohlídku svého studia a okamžitě mě upoutala série obrazů zastrčených v rohu – lidé bojující proti systému, bojoví umělci, indiánští válečníci a divocí samurajové, vše provedené v rorschachovském stylu, který je oživoval. Tak vznikla série Warrior, spolupráce mezi MK a Peterem Holmesem. Abigail vložila štětec do Peterovy ruky a nemohu si pomoci, ale myslím, že nás svedla dohromady, abychom výsledky sdíleli se světem.

The cotton is soft and the silkscreen print has held up perfectly after several washes. I wore it to Abigail's memorial and it felt like a small tribute to her legacy. Tamar even asked where I got it.

Wore this to the memorial for Abigail and it felt right — the cotton is soft but the silkscreen still has that crisp, slightly raised feel you only get from a real print. Washed it once already and no cracking or fading.

The silkscreen print on this one is sharp and the white cotton is thick enough that you can't see through it. It fits true to size, which I appreciated since I ordered online without trying it on. Slightly boxy cut, but that's the look I was going for.
